A new short-range wireless connection was uncovered by Nokia being smaller and more energy-efficient than current Bluetooth technology that is possible to be used in small devices such as watches.
Nokia Research Center developed a new technology called “Wibree” that can work together with Bluetooth short-range wireless connections and using just a fraction of the power.

The latest addition to its family of "Active" phones was made by means of introduction of the Nokia 5500 Sport Music Edition. The Music Edition is advanced with a 512 MB microSD card to be able to listen up to 375 songs. The kit also includes a fitness carrying strap, bicycle holder and sports headset packed in a new energetic color.

Today Nokia disclosed a licensing agreement with Trimble technologies that gives the first-mentioned the right of being exclusive licensee of Trimble's Global Navigation Satellite System patents in wireless consumer electronics. Trimble holds aprox. 700 of patents on finding a device's location using such technologies as GPS or assisted GPS. Having this agreement Nokia will benefit by an ability of sublicensing rights to other producers which will expand their industry leading WCDMA/UMTS and GSM patent portfolios.

Cingular has launched the Nokia E62, which is Nokia's North American version of the E61. E62 is Quadband GSM and is one of a few Nokia's models with a QWERTY keyboard. You will like its features:

Nokia announced today that the Nokia N73 has been selected for Softbank Mobile Corp.'s 3G handset line-up. Nokia N73 is a 3G multimedia computer, which belongs to Nokia Nseries family.
