According to Reuters, Nokia has dropped prices on some of its cell phones by 10%. Reportedly, the highest price cuts were applied to music and media phones.Currently, Nokia is the largest handset manufacturer and takes up 40% of the global cell phone market. In these circumstances the competitors will have to lower the prices as well, or risk losing even more market share.

Nokia has announced that starting October 1st their anticipated N96 multimedia monster will be available from the following carriers in Europe:

• 3;
• Carphone;
• Warehouse;
• Orange;
• Phones4U;
• T-Mobile;
• Vodafone

Nokia has launched its 6210 Navigator in India. The phone is a successor to the 6110 Navigator model, and offers a number improvements. Specifications include:

J. Gold Associates predict that in the near fufure, three to six months from now, Google and Nokia will combine their Android and Symbian platforms "to provide a single open source OS". AT&T and Nokia were sued by a group that claims the carrier sold used and renewed Nokia cell phones as new ones through its retail stores.
