Exploding Nokia Cell Phones

There have been a couple of reports about exploding Nokia handsets in West Bengal lately.

First was the explosion of Nokia 2100 using a BL-D 3 battery owned by Kishori Saha from Kolkata. The phone was put on charge and suddenly exploded, causing minor injuries to five-month pregnant Kishori.

Orange to Decline Nokia N81

Orange to Decline Nokia N81

Orange, a major European carrier said it would decline the new 8GB Nokia N81 because of possible incompatibility between Nokia's Music Store service and the one from Orange.

The cellular operator asked Nokia to give them the opportunity to test both services side by side, and gave just one day to make a decision.

Two New Nokia XpressMusic Mobile Phones Introduced

Nokia has just introduced its latest music phone, called the 5310 XpressMusic.

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic comes in a candy bar form factor and has a sleek metallic black case with red or blue accents. Measuring just 9.9mm thick it weighs less than 71 grams.

Concerning music capabilities, the 5310 XpressMusic delivers up to 18 hours of audio playback and comes with dedicated music keys.

New Ovi Internet services by Nokia

Nokia announced its new Internet service brand, called Ovi (http://www.ovi.com).

Ovi means "Door" in Finnish, and will be a gateway to Nokia services, like Nokia Music Store, Nokia Maps, and N-Gage games.

It will also offer consumers easy access to their existing social network, communities and content.

8GB Nokia N95 Announced

At last, the 8GB version of Nokia N95 multimedia computer has been officially announced. 

8GB capacity allows users to store up to 20 hours of video or around 6000 songs in the handset's internal memory. In rest the device comes with pretty much the same features as the previous version, including 5Mpix camera with Carl Zeiss optics, integrated A-GPS, support for WLAN and HSDPA, and a 2.
