Orange France has just announced they have sold 70,000 iPhones in the first month of sales. Well, this isn't bad, but considering that in the first five days the company has sold about 40,000 handsets, the outcome indicates that sales-rates dropped by more than 70%. Don't know what to think... Anyway, in a couple Apple plans to make an official report on iPhone sales.

According to France Telecom, their Orange division in France has managed to sell around 30,000 iPhones since the last week’s launch. Of course, this number looks pale in comparison with 270,000 handsets sold in the first two days of the US release, but it's a good start.

Finally, Apple iPhone is now available in France from Orange. This is the second country (after Germany ) to offer unlocked SIM-free iPhone, in compliance with the law. You can get the unlocked version for about $965.32 in France, or for $1485.91 in Germany. Pretty expensive don't you think? Anyway, the handset is also available for $593 after a contract with Orange.

Orange began recalling their Sony Ericsson W910i handsets after they received a large number of complains about the phone's serious performance problems, including spontaneous turn-offs and frequent lack of connection. Now the company claims that all problems have been fixed, and new devices will operate normally.

It provides up to 9 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time in the dark and almost endless talk time in light conditions by using its solar cell. The device weighs just 14 grams, looks nice, and will be available in the near future for around $100.

The official carrier to offer the iPhone in France will be Orange. The launch scheduled on November 29. The handset will be available in 8GB model for €399 including VAT. All buyers will have to subscribe for one of the "dedicated rate plans".
