BlackBerry OS 5.0 Features Revealed

These are some of the features of the future BlackBerry Enterprise 5.0 OS that have been leaked today. We don't know when the new OS will be available, most likely in April 2009, but we're positive that RIM will release at least two more updates for the current 4.7 build before then.

5.0 OS features:

  • Flag messages and set reminder times on your BlackBerry.

Here is one of the first live photos of Google's Android OS in action.

Gizmodo, the source of the photo says that despite the system is still a prototype, it runs light and fast, and that the programming is overall better than Windows Mobile 5.

We'll be able to test the complete version once the first Android-based handsets appear.

Microsoft to Release Windows Mobile 6.1

Microsoft are ready release its latest Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, which is already present on the Wi-Fi-enabled Motorola Q9.

Its main improvements include a much more convenient UI, the ability to set your own homepage in Internet Explorer, copy/paste functionality, and threaded SMS system.

Verizon and T-Mobile Handsets to Feature Google OS

Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile USA are in talks with Google to use its upcoming OS in their future handsets.

The search giant's mobile platform will be inexpensive and easily customizable, so carriers will be able to adapt it to their requirements.

According to Wall Street Journal, Google will announce its new operation system in mid-November and the first handsets to feature it will be available in sometime in 2008.
