While the official pricng for the Palm Pre hasn't been announced yet, speculations continue: Credit Suisse claims that Sprint will be offering the handset for $150 on contract, which will automatically position the Pre as the direct iPhone 3G rival. Hopefully the price will actually be this low, as it will assure a great start for the upcoming smartphone.

We were rather skeptical about the ability of the Palm OS emulator for webOS to run games and videos without problems. Well, now we have almost no doubds it will work just fine. Just look at how games like GTS World Racer run on it (video below).
So if you were planning to get the Palm Pre when it’s officially released, do so without hesitations.

Just a short update for the previous news: according to the leaked document supposedly from Sprint, it seems that the Palm Pre smart phone will be ready by May 16th, which is almost the same date I mentioned earlier today.
It looks like the release of device is just around the corner, and at the same time is pretty far.

Phonenews has apparently got some clues on the possible release dates of the upcoming Palm Pre. According to the source, Sprint has reportedly sent out internal memos to its staff, putting a vacation freeze for both May and June. The release dates are set to May 17th or June 29th, depending on the arrival of Palm Pre shipment. There was no official confirmation on that, so consider this a rumor.

According to rumors, the Pre will be getting a PalmOS emulator, which should do the trick. No one knows whether it will support all the available applications, but it's better than nothing anyway, right?

According to Jim Van, one of the beta testers for Sprint, the release of Palm Pre is apparently scheduled for April 30th, and it should be available for $299 with 2-years service agreement. Note that this is not confirmed yet.
