Sprint's Palm Centro received a little update. It adds My Location feature to Google Maps, as well as improves Bluetooth performance and Gmail IMAP and SprintTV.To upgrade your device please visit Palm's support site.

Wmexperts reports that the new Palm Treo 800w can be ordered today by calling to Sprint Telesales at 877-639-8351. The device is marked with a product ID PTR800HK and is available for $599 before a $100 mail-in-rebate and $75 off (1 year contract) or $150 off (2 year contract). There are also several custom shortcut designs available at your choice:

• GPS Access from home screen;
• Wi-Fi hotkey;
• Dialing by typing contact name on the today screen;
• Calendar and email hotkeys;
• One-touch Ignore/end call

Just a quick update for you: apparently, Palm Centro will be coming to AT&T in electric blue on July 11th, and will cost cheaper.

We don't know how much it will actually cost, but we expect the said price cut to apply only for the GSM version.

 

Palm Treo 755p from Verizon has got a firmware update. Unfortunately, there's no info about it, only a phrase on the support page saying that this build "improves the phone application, stability and device usability." Well, sounds good enough for us, so if you own the respective handset, get it "tuned-up".

Palm announced it will start producing the unlocked version of its Centro smartphone. The device will cost $299 and will sport the same characteristics as the quad-band GSM/EDGE version from AT&T. It can be purchased directly from the company's website.

In addition, Palm also announced that Google will be offering its Maps for Mobile with My Location service to Centro owners.

Thanks to an inventory sheet posted on HowardForums we now know the exact launch date of the anticipated Palm Treo 800w on Sprint. The device will be available to business customers starting July 9, and to other subscribers on July 13 (not July 22 like we originally thought). The launch date could be delayed of course, so don't get too excited.

The Palm Treo 800w will cost $249.

We're not sure about this, but it looks like Treo 700wx is getting an official Windows Mobile 6 upgrade courtesy of Verizon. There was no mention of WM 6.1 update and whether Sprint customers will get it. We'll see... Btw, apparently, if you want, you can upgrade your Treo 700wx to Windows Mobile 6.0 unofficially.

Palm and Rogers Wireless have recently announced the Canadian launch of the popular Palm Centro smartphone.The handset will be available for $199 CAD for existing customers and $299 CAD for new subscribers, however they will all have to sign a three-year contract with a required voice and data plan.

We don't get it... It looks like Verizon intends to sell the Palm Centro for a whole $269.99 on a 2-year contract before $70 mail-in rebate starting June 13.

Maybe there's a typo here, or will they include a complementary $100 bill with each handset they sell?
