Panasonic has unvieled a pair of rugged devices made for special use cases during the Mobile World Congress.The new Toughpad FZ-E1 and Toughpad FZ-X1 look similar, but there’s one important difference between the two. While the former (FZ-E1) runs Windows Embedded 8 Handheld platform, the latter (FZ-X1) relies on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.There are also some differences under the hood: the Toughpad FZ-E1 rocks a 2.

It was a sad day last August when Panasonic decided to take leave from the smartphone business for good. However, it is nice to hear from the Japanese media that the company is about to make a change in their minds, and word on the street has it that they also have a brand new smartphone that is being developed in-house at the moment.This particular device is touted to feature a 5” display as the bare minimum, and word on the street also has it that this will be a shock resistant smartphone.

Panasonic has already begun to work out plans in unveiling what they deem to be the thinnest and lightest 20” 4K tablet.

The unveiling will happen before IFA 2013 kicks off for good later in the week.

In fact, this particular slate would be on display throughout the IFA 2013 event, but as to when it will be commercially available to the masses, that remains to be seen.

Panasonic P51 breaks into the Indian market

Panasonic is staking its first proper claim in the India with the launch of the P51 device.it comes with a 5-inch, 720p LCD and quad-core 1.2GHz MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of expandable storage buffered by an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and support for both HSPA+ and dual SIM.It also comes equipped with a capacitive stylus and a magnetic flip cover in the box.

Panasonic ELUGA will first hit it’s home country via NTT DoCoMo as the next series P-O4D on March 29th.Afterward, the device will be available in Europe by April. The pre-order for the device has begin to take place. The ELUGA ability sure made the smartphone look even better aside from the slick and sassy looking design.The device is waterproof, dustproof body which can be completely submerged for a short time without taking any damage.

Panasonic Eluga coming to Japan and Europe this Spring

As you remember, earlier this year, Panasonic revealed their plans to enter the European market with an Android offering of their own in the form of the Eluga, a dual-core 1GHz device with a 4.3” qHD 960×540 display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread on board.The good news for Europeans and the Japanese is that the Eluga will be seeing a launch on Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo come 29th of March, while its European launch has seen its original launch in March pushed back to April.

Panasonic is coming with their latest gaming smartphone, and the device is ready for pre-order via United Kingdom-based electronics retailer Clove.The Eluga Power priced at £399 unlocked (about $636 USD) and £478.80.It features a 5-inches display, 1800mAh battery, a 1.5ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, NFC capability, just 8GB of on-board storage (plus a MicroSD card slot), and an 8-megapixel camera.

Panasonic Eluga smartphone officially announced

Panasonic has officially named its first smartphone for Europe, the Panasonic Eluga. This 4.3-inch Android handset expected to go on sale this spring.It is a waterproof, dustproof and generally resilient smartphone fronted by a qHD 960 x 540 OLED display and toting NFC.Sadly at the moment full specifications of the Eluga aren’t yet available.

Panasonic along with other Japanese brands such as NEC and Fujitsu have yet to really penetrate the European and US smartphone market.It looks like on 2012 those living in Europe might get a taste of Panasonic’s new smartphone series.Japanese companies promise to introduce a smartphone series in Europe on Q1 of 2012.According to Panasonic this new smartphone will feature a 4.3” AMOLED display with a qHD resolution, will be both waterproof and dustproof, NFC capable and will run on Android.

Although we've still seen none of Panasonic's Android family outside of Japan, a new rumor suggests that the company is seeking out a PR agency to help big up its latest wafer-thin, and water-resistant smartphone offerings across the Europe in the next year.PR Week reports that the brief includes the UK and five other European countries.
