According to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report, in Q1 2008 ASUS will start shipping its latest P550 PDA phone to Vodafone, which will offer it as the V1520. The new model is the successor to the V1210, and should replace the HTC P3600.

Asus has officially announced the new Asus P550 PDA targeted at business professionals. It is a 3G WCDMA handset featuring a large 3.5" touch-sensitive display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and full GPS functionality + TMC receiver. No word on pricing and availability for now.

It looks like 2008 will be a busy year for HP. The company has recently released its new HP iPAQ 112 PDA in Korea, and, according to reports, plans to release another two iPAQ 610 and iPAQ 910 early next year. HP has partnered with two Taiwanese companies, Foxconn Group and Inventec Appliances, to coordinate its handset production with them.

The new CPU will boost overall performance of the handset, as well as optimize multimedia and business applications functionality, while consuming less power. The FCC has just approved Toshiba Portege G910 and G920 PDA models. They both operate on a Qualcomm CPU running Windows Mobile 6 Pro OS, and support 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. Other features include dual cameras with flash, and GPS receiver, though G910 model has it turned off for some reason.

The handset, when closed, looks like an ordinary candy bar cell phone, but when you open it, it reveals a QWERTY keyboard and a large 3" WVGA (800x480) screen.
