RIM has suddenly decided to rebrand its BlackBerry KickStart 8220 clamshell to BlackBerry Pearl 8220. The reasons that prompted RIM to make this move are so far unclear, but who cares, right? :)

Anyway, there will be two similar models available, the 8820 with Wi-Fi radio on-board for T-Mobile and the GPS-enabled 8210 for AT&T. The choice is yours.

Owners of the BlackBerry Pearl 8110, 8120, and 8130 in the U.S. can now take advantage of the new experimental service from Google that allows for voice searching in Google Maps.

It lets you search for restaurants, points of interest, and other locations just by saying their name.

Canadian Rogers Wireless is getting ready to release the WiFi-enabled BlackBerry Pearl 8120.

The carrier already offers two of the previous Pearls, and there's no reason to believe they will limit themselves to this couple.

Pricing and availability details haven't been announced yet.

T-Mobile has just released the Wi-Fi-enabled RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120, compatible with T-Mobile's Hotspot @Home service.

Verizon Wireless and Research In Motion (RIM) announced today the availability of the new pink version of the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphone.

The new color makes it look chic and fashionable, but in terms of features the device offers nothing new. Here are some of the specs:

• EV-DO connectivity;
• Speakerphone;
• 2Mpix camera with flash and 5x zoom;
• Advanced media player;
• Enhanced desktop media manager software (included);
• Bluetooth;
• microSD/SDHC memory card slot.

It looks like T-Mobile is planning to release the successor to the recently launched Blackberry Pearl 8100.

The upcoming device is called 8120, and will probably be launched on February 18.

Maybe this way T-Mobile decided to get rid of the superfluous supply of 8100 devices before the release of a more advanced model.

RIM announced that its BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone will be available in Singapore this month.

Just to remind you the features, the device comes with a microSD/SDHC memory card slot, built-in Wi-Fi, and a 2Mpix digicam with 5x digital zoom and video capture capability (240x180 or 176x144 screen resolutions).
