The upcoming Philips X800 all-touchscreen has already passed the FCC and is nearing its launch. Overall, its features are pretty decent, but the lack of 3G, Wi-Fi and even EDGE connectivity is a deal breaker for most users, including me. But if they make the phone cheap, you know, I can always reconsider.

We have some details on the Philips X800 entry-level touchscreen phone, recently approved by the FCC.
Here's what we know:
- GSM/GPRS (900/1800/1900 MHz) + EDGE;
- 2.9" 240x400 touchscreen, 256K colors;
- WAP 2.0/xHTML browser;
- Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP;
- microSD slot;
- MP3 ringtones;
- USB port.

FCC has just approved a new full touchscreen phone from Philips, the X800.
Apparently, this one won't make it to the U.S., and the exact release date is still under question.
According to the FCC's filling, the handset features dedicated end/send buttons, a 2Mpix camera, and a microSD card slot for extra storage.

Philips has launched a couple of low-end cell phones for the Asian market, the 198 and 199 models.
There's almost nothing to tell you, they both are budget phones, both have a very light weight, and 198 model boasts an FM radio tuner.
The price of $62 is the same for both phones.

This is a product rendering of the future Xenium X-Connect phone by Philips.
It is a Windows Mobile 6 based smartphone with a 3" touchscreen, and such goodies like 3G UMTS/HSDPA radios, GPS receiver, AA/AAA battery backup, microSD slot, and Bluetooth 2.0 all powered by a 624MHz Intel processor.
Unfortunately, Philips Xenium cell phones are primarily found in Asia Pacific region, so we wouldn't count of seeing this one in Europe or U.

Philips has upgraded its Xenium 9@9 smartphone by changing the ordinary screen to a touch-sensitive one. But that's not all. This new model, called btw Xenium 9@9v, also features handwriting recognition (why not, when you have a touchscreen?), dual-SIM card support and a hardly believable 1 month standby time.

Here's an interesting piece, a new AAA-powered cell phone from Philips, codenamed 9@9j (can you read it?). Actually, it uses a standard lithium ion battery, but comes with an additional AAA to provide up to 3 hours of extra talk time in case you forgot to recharge the phone. The Philips 9@9j will be available in April for a yet undisclosed price.

Philips has exited the European mobile market long ago. But the Chinese company that bought its mobile phone division has just introduced a new Philips-branded cell phone. It is called Philips 192 and represents a very basic GSM handset with a 128×128, 65K color CSTN display. It will be soon available in Europe for about $60.

FCC has just approved the Philips Xenium 9@9u. As you can probably guess, it offers extra long battery life providing up to 8 hours of talk time and one month of standby. However, other models in this series are capable of providing twice as much battery power than this one. Speaking about the features, the 9@9u comes with tri-band GSM connectivity, 2Mpix camera, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, USB, and MP3 player.
