Recently Rogers give a quick walk-through on a RIM's first tablet the BlackBerry PlayBook at their tablet event. The demo was done by David Neale, RIM’s VP of Special Projects, who noted that as smoothly as it’s running now with full multitasking, the PlayBook still isn’t optimized for dual core. A video of this event is available, and it gives a good look at what PlayBook will offer.
According to some leaked information the BlackBerry PlayBook will be available in three different price options starting from $399. All versions of the PlayBook will be identical except for memory capacity. The PlayBook is rumored to launch in mid-February 2011.The options are:BlackBerry PlayBook 8GB for $399BlackBerry PlayBook 16GB for $499BlackBerry PlayBook 32GB for $599
RIM intends to launch the BlackBerry PlayBook, a 7" tablet, in U.S. sometime in Q1 2011. According to Bloomberg RIM also plans to sell the PlayBook globally in Q2 of the same year.
As said previously the BlackBerry PlayBook will cost under $500 which is roughly the same price as other tablet devices such as the Apple iPad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Official source confirmed that the upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook will cost under $500.
The PlayBook offers a 7" touchscreen display, a dual-core processor, video chat support and will run on a BlackBerry's new operating system for tablets.
