Pre 2 is the first device to run on HP webOS 2.0, allowing quick and easy multitasking of e-mail, games, music and more.

It has been announced by Verizon for a price of 150$. The sales begin from February 17.

But the fact that on HP's site this handset will cost you only 100$ seems strange.

HP has officially announced the new Palm Pre 2 smartphone powered by the Palm's latest webOS 2.0 operating system. The new webOS 2.0 offers a number of new features, such as the Just Type feature that lets you type and then choose whether you want to email, text, search the web, etc; HP Synergy that allows developers to include multiple messaging, contact, and calendar application sources; the new "Exhibition" feature that allows users to run any chosen app while the phone is charging on the included Touchstone Charging Dock.

Verizon and AT&T customers who own a Palm Pre Plus can now install an OTA webOS 1.4.5 update. The new build should improve PDK support, gaming, and include some GPS fixes.

Sprint has started rolling out Palm webOS 1.4.5 to its Palm Pre and Pixi smartphones. The update includes numerous fixes and improvements, such as better power usage and battery optimization, allows users to send MMS texts from the video application along with a new video trim feature, and corrects web text entry.

In addition, Sprint changed the way podcasts are downloaded, and the company's default email signature.

The AT&T's Palm Pre Plus is now available at Radio Shack. The Pre Plus is a webOS-powered smartphone with Wi-Fi support, a 3.1" touchscreen, 16GB of internal storage, and a full QWERTY keyboard.

A Palm Pre unlock that enabled international GSM Pre units to work on AT&T, Telus and T-Mobile is now officially certified for use on AT&T's own Palm Pre Plus, which basically means your smartphone will be compatible with T-Mobile and Telus networks with a functioning SIM card from either carrier. The unlock isn't free, of course, but unlike other unlocks, and will cost you $35.

The Palm Pre Plus is currently available to AT&T customers at a price of $150 after rebates.

Bell is currently offering the original Palm Pre at no cost on a 3-year contract. Apparently the move was aimed at boosting sales of the handset one last time.

Palm's Pre Plus and Pixi Plus are now available for purchase in France via retail locations and online. Both handsets have access to Palm's Mobile Hotspot app along with a choice of custom goodies like SFR TV and SFR Wi-Fi, which should help users identify the extensive Wi-Fi hotspot network they're entitled to by virtue of using the phone.
