According to BGR, there's a new touchscreen BlackBerry handset called 9500 Thunder coming to Verizon and Vodafone as an exclusive device.
They claim it will be feature four physical keys (send, end, menu, and back), sport a hybrid CDMA EV-DO Rev. C / GSM HSPA radio, and could include a 4G LTE component. Besides that we know nothing more... Stay tuned.

As we expected earlier, RIM has finally announced the BlackBerry 9000.
It is indeed codenamed Bold, and will soon be available from AT&T, which is said to be the exclusive carrier in the U.S.
The price is still unknown, unfortunately. Here are some of the specs:
- HSDPA or EV-DO (including an AWS-capable 1700MHz version);
- 480 x 320 resolution display;
- 625MHz CPU;
- 1GB of internal flash memory;

According to BGR, the new BlackBerry 9000 is getting official next week on Monday, May 12 at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2008 in Orlando.
Also, referring to the same source, the final name of the device might be BlackBerry Bold, though this is not yet confirmed (and probably won't be).
As for us, we'd prefer to wait for the announcement instead of speculating.

RIM, concerned with the possible low sales of the upcoming high-priced BlackBerry 9000 smartphone, decided to make a budget version of the handset by cutting out 3G support.
It will also have a slightly different bezel and back casing.
Why they decided to change the body is beyond me...

According to NY times, RIM is developing a new iPhone killer, a fully touchscreen BlackBerry smartphone.
After the release of Pearl and Curve series, BlackBerries entered the consumer orientated phone market, and started offering features like in-built camera, memory card slot, multimedia player and headphone jack.
However, those who use their handset for entertainment and web browsing will surely prefer the iPhone.

After Verizon and Sprint the BlackBerry Curve 8330 was launched on the Alltel's CDMA network.
It will be available for purchase starting May 1 for $229.99 after contract and rebates.

As expected, Research In Motion (RIM) has just entered the Russian mobile market.
The first handset to go for sale is the BlackBerry 8700, the one that previously blew the Chinese market. It has recently passed the FSB and will be available through Vimpelcom (better known as Beeline). Other most probable carrier to offer the handset in the near future is Mobile TeleSystems (MTC).
