BlackBery has been finally launched in Russia, and will be available in Q1 2008 from MTS and Vimpelcom. It has recently been approved by the FSB (former KGB) for a one year term. However, the process of approval was ongoing and took several years. FSB required RIM to provide the codes used to encrypt traffic and did not allow launching the BlackBerry in Russia until both sides have found a compromise.

RIM's upcoming BlackBerry 8110 Pearl is the latest device in this line-up. Like the 8130 model it will come with an integrated GPS receiver, and will probably support 3G networks. It should be available in early 2008, which means after Christmas, unfortunately. We know almost nothing about the device right now, but we'll keep you informed of any developments.

Spanish Telefonica and RIM have developed a software suite, called Unite!, designed to give BIS users a bit of the BES experience. The new suite will allow users to sync and share different types of data between up to 5 handsets. It will also give admins the ability to impose "Rules" and lockdown connected devices.

RIM's shares rose more than 3% to close at $85.41 on the NASDAQ Friday due to rumors about Microsoft's intentions on buying the smartphone manufacturer. However, the whole idea doesn't make much sense as RIM's current market value is about $47bn, and Microsoft would rather grow its own technologies instead of purchasing such a major company for them.

The new BlackBerry 8820 uses Wi-Fi connectivity for accessing the web. It wasn't officially announced, so there is very little info about it. We know that 8820 doesn't differ much from 8800, and comes with a landscape display and QWERTY keyboard. The camera is lacking, not sure about the memory slot. The first carrier to offer the device is also unknown.

The BlackBerry 8800 was announced by Research In Motion. The 8800 is a quad-band GSM /EDGE, with built-in GPS , the device is a combination of styles between BlackBerry Pearl and some previous business-targeted BlackBerry handsets.
The BlackBerry 8800 has the following set of features inside

- BlackBerry push email support
- microSD memory card slot
- Trackball navigation
- Bluetooth
The BlackBerry 8800 is going to be shipped later this month.
