The new Samsung U320 has been spotted at the FCC approval site, and is apparently headed to Verizon in a couple of months. It as a small upgrade over the Knack U310 model, but we can't name the exact changes. Mostly the phones are identical, with the same clameshell form -factor, lack of Bluetooth and camera, and dedicated 911 & ICE buttons. Hopefully the reception will be improved too.

Samsung announced its plans on starting mass production of the first ever AMOLED touch panel sometime next month. The upcoming display will be 3.3” in size with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, and is expected to become the "number one in the LCD and AMOLED market".

Hopefully they'll be able to keep the manufacturing costs at a rational level...

On February 3 T-Mobile plans on releasing the Samsung T139, an entry-level flip phone with basic features for those on low budget. The phone will most likely be available free on contract or as a prepaid option.

T-Mobile UK has released the Samsung's Android-powered i5700 Galaxy Spica, renamed to Galaxy Portal and will be offering it exclusively for a whole month. The phone is available now for free to those willing to sign an 18-month contract with £23 (about $37) monthly fee.

It looks like Palm Pre Plus is not the only handset capable of running 50 open applications simultaneously. Adam Fullerton (iUnlock) flashed his Samsung i8910 HD with a custom ROM that significantly lowers the consumption of the phone's 256MB of RAM, and managed to start 50 heavy appllications (Gravity, Skyfire, Opera, Quickoffice, Adobe Reader, music player, browser, etc) to run them simultaneously.

A new super-fancy Giorgio Armani branded Samsung smartphone has hit Indian shores. It should appear of shelves sometime next week with a price tag of around Rs. 30,000. Featuires include:

The new Samsung M3710 Corby Beat is one of the recent additions to the company's Corby line of smartphones. Its key point of attraction is probably the built-in Games Store, which will be the default feature in all future Bada-based handsets. Other than that it's a pretty simple 2G phone with a 2.8" QVGA display, 3Mpix camera, Wi-Fi, and a set of dedicated music keys at the bottom.
