The Global Certification Forum has recently published some new info on the unannounced Samsung GT-i8000 smartphone. According to GCF documents this phone will feature:

• Windows Mobile 6.1;
• Wi-Fi;
• Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz);
• tri-band UMTS (900/1900/2100MHz);
• HSUPA support

AT&T and Samsung have announced the new Samsung i637 Jack, a nice addition to the BlackJack series. It's a business-centric WM-based smartphone packed with some decent features, such as:

• Front-facing QWERTY keyboard;
• 528MHz processor;
• 256MB RAM;
• 3Mpix camera;
• 2.4" QVGA resolution;
• Windows Mobile 6.

Sprint will soon be getting a new QWERTY dual slider, the Samsung Exclaim. previously rumored as Cello, this messaging handset offers the following features:

• QWERTY keyboard;
• QVGA display;
• EV-DO;
• 2Mpix camera with video recording;
• A-GPS;
• Bluetooth

The expected release date is June 7th on Sprint.

AT&T now offers a phone called Samsung Magnet. Actually there are two models of it, the A257 and A177, and they're both available. The former comes in orange-black and is selling for just $19, on a two-year contract and after $30 mail-in rebate. The latter is the same spec-wise, but comes in pitch black color for $99.99 without contract.

Verizon Wireless has released the Samsung Alias 2, the first phone with a morphing E-ink keypad. It is available for purchase now at a price of $129.99 with a 2-year contract before rebate.

Verizon's Samsung Omnia owners can now upgrade their handset to Windows Mobile 6.5, as an unofficial WM6.5 ROM has surfaced online yesterday. The GSM version of the said ROM was available for a while now, and the new CDMA works fine and stable as well. Visit Modaco's website for installation instructions if you're ready to flash your handset.

Samsung presented two new handsets for the general public, the Preston and Star. They're pretty similar to each other, with the Preston supporting HSDPA, while the Star features a larger 3" display (2.8" on Preston). Their other features include FM radio, 3.2Mpix camera, and Bluetooth. Wi-Fi is unfortunately lacking.

Some leaked Verizon documents have uncovered launch details for the upcoming Samsung Alias2. Apparently the device will be launched on May 11th costing:

• $79.99 after a mail-in rebate with a 2-year contract;
• $149 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a 1-year contract
• $249 off contract

The Alias 2 is known by its keyboard that features E-ink technology.
