Apparently, Verizon Wireless will be releasing the new Samsung U900 FlipShot phone this Wednesday, on November 21. The new model looks like a successor to the a990 and despite being thin and lightweight still offers very decent multimedia capability. The company has only replaced the main QVGA screen with a smaller 176 x 220 pixel one, and enhanced the external display. Samsung has announced today a new 8Mpix CMOS camera module. While it is not the it has a smaller size of 10.5 X 11.5 X 9.4 mm (equal to the 3Mpix cam) and supports Auto Focus. The module should be brought into production sometime next year, though its integration in GSM handsets remains under question.

Rumor has it that Verizon plans to release a new global roaming cell phone in the near future. The device is called Samsung i760 and is targeted at habitual worldwide travelers.
