Remember the Samsung i550 ? This sleek GPS-enabled candybar phone has a nice set of features, with the exception of the lacking Wi-Fi... It was a major blow, but today the company has announced the new i550w, the same i550 model only updated with Wi-Fi connectivity. |

According to reports, starting late March Verizon will begin selling the new Samsung U940 CDMA mobile phone as the Verizon Glyde. I guess this is the case when a new name can supposedly attract more attention to an already known handset. Stay tuned for more details next month.

Samsung Guru100 is a new low-end handset for the Indian market. It has a candybar form-factor and offers basic features, such as a small 128x128 resolution display, speakerphone, support for MP3 ringtones, SMS messaging, mobile tracker, Hinglish language support, phonebook for 500 contacts, and 9-hour battery life. The Guru100 will soon be available in India for $50.

Vodafone has recently added Samsung SGH-i640v to its smartphone lineup. This WM6-based device was announced back in September 2007, and features a 2Mpix camera, full QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA support, but lacks Wi-Fi connectivity, which is a major downside unless you're on an unlimited data plan. Depending on the contract, the i640v could be yours from free to £150.

The new Samsung U550, which has passed the FCC a month ago, is now available from Verizon. It is a simple mid-range EV-DO clamshell with two screens (internal of 220×176 and external of 96×96), 1.3Mpix camera with Night Shot mode, EV-DO and Bluetooth support. I can only add that the price is very reasonable - $69.

Samsung has finally unveiled its SGH-i780 all-in-one smartphone in London. Orange UK and Telefónica Movistar will be its first carriers, with more operators to follow in the near future. The unlocked device should become available in the end of the month for 489 Euro.

FCC site has unveiled the new Samsung U940, a CDMA version of the Ultra Edition F700. It is a dual slider with a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth and memory card slot, and a 2Mpix camera. The most likely carrier is Verizon, as the phone has company's logo printed on it. Finally, the CDMA model could have a different UI unlike its GSM brother, which uses Samsung's Croix touch interface.

Sprint has launched two Samsung phones, the Samsung ACE and the M520. - The first one is a windows Mobile 6 based smartphone with a full QWERTY-keyboard. It features EV-DO connectivity, stereo Bluetooth, 1.3Mpix camera, microSD slot, and a SIM card slot for GSM cards.
The handset costs $199.99 with a 2-year agreement.

It features a 2.8" touch-sensitive display, video messaging, email, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth connectivity, mobile blogging, and a 5Mpix camera with auto-focus and image stabilization. The F480 should be available in April or May for about $580.
