The Skype 3.0 is now available for Windows Mobile handsets. The latest build offers some new features, including a slightly updated UI, the ability to send files back and forth via Skype-to-Skype, and allows to send SMS messages from the app itself via Wi-Fi, which lets users avoid text roaming fees.

Finally an official Skype application will soon come to the iPhone and BlackBerry handsets. The iPhone will get it this Tuesday, while BlackBerry owners will have to wait until May. The official build will not require additional audio transcoding, will use only Wi-Fi instead of EDGE or 3G, and will support calls to SkypeOut contacts in addition to many other features available on the desktop client.

Skype has released a new Skype Mobile beta, which is now compatible with Android, and available for over 100 Java-enabled phones from LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. The new app includes such features like support for Skype-to-Skype calls, instant messaging, Skype calls to landlines or mobile phones, receiving calls to your online phone number on Skype and see Skype contacts online/offline status.

The upcoming Skypephone IM2 (until now it was known as S2) from 3 has just passed the FCC and apparently will soon be available for purchase. Unfortunately, we don't know when and where exactly, but the FCC approval means we can expect it in the U.S.
The device will use HSDPA data network instead of GSM to help users save on voice calls. You know, that's how Skype works.
