Today Skype has released a new version (2.2.0.45) of its client compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. However, apart from that there seem to be no improvements over the last build...

The upcoming Skypephone IM2 (until now it was known as S2) from 3 has just passed the FCC and apparently will soon be available for purchase. Unfortunately, we don't know when and where exactly, but the FCC approval means we can expect it in the U.S.
The device will use HSDPA data network instead of GSM to help users save on voice calls. You know, that's how Skype works.

Skype has finally released its beta mobile client for Java-enabled handsets.
The new application offers skype chat, as well as voice calls, which use your cellular network instead of VoIP, but end up much cheaper when you make international calls. Use your regular plan minutes to call abroad for just $10 per month.

Skype announced a new unlimited plan allowing for unlimited international calls from the U.S.
The plan costs $9.95 a month and offers unlimited calling to 34 countries, including most of Europe, plus Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Malaysia. However, this refers to land line numbers; unlimited calls to cell phones take effect only if you dial U.
