Kaspersky Lab announced the release of the new Kaspersky Mobile Security 7.0 software for Symbian and Windows Mobile based smartphones.

It provides maximum protection for you handset against unauthorised data leakages, as well as network attaks, malware and SMS spam.

In addition, it offers several new features that allow you to remotely block your smartphone in case it was lost or stolen, and also acts as a mobile antivirus.

Vodafone has recently added Samsung SGH-i640v to its smartphone lineup.

This WM6-based device was announced back in September 2007, and features a 2Mpix camera, full QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA support, but lacks Wi-Fi connectivity, which is a major downside unless you're on an unlimited data plan. Depending on the contract, the i640v could be yours from free to £150.

Samsung has finally unveiled its SGH-i780 all-in-one smartphone in London.

Orange UK and Telefónica Movistar will be its first carriers, with more operators to follow in the near future.

Australian Telstra will be the world's first cellular operator to carry i-mate Ultimate 8502 and 9502 WM6-based smartphones.

Gigabyte presented a couple of new G-Smart series handsets at the MWC show today, one of which was the MS800.
