Verizon announced their new SMT5800 aka HTC S720 smartphone at CES today, which actually wasn't a surprise as we knew it was coming. Here's what the device offers:

• Windows Mobile 6 Standard OS;
• Numeric keypad and full slide-out QWERTY keyboard;
• 2Mpix camera with video capture;
• Bluetooth 2.

A few days ago Motorola has launched its Z8 multimedia slider in Taiwan.

It is a Symbian UIQ 3.1 based smartphone featuring HSDPA support, 2.2" QVGA display, stereo Bluetooth, 2Mpix camera, media player, and a microSD slot.

But as you probably know, the launch of the more advanced Z10 model isn't far, so we recommend you to wait a little.

Several new pictures of the upcoming Asus M930W communicator have been released.

It has a similar clamshell form factor as the LG enV, and features tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA connectivity, two displays, a 3.2Mpix camera, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g support, Bluetooth 2.0, and runs on Windows Mobile 6 OS.

No word on pricing and availability.

RIM plans to launch soon the new BlackBerry 9000, a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE handset featuring a 480 x 320 resolution screen, QWERTY keyboard, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, and an updated OS.

It should be released sometime between January and April 2008.

We just want to let you know that Vodafone is no longer offering its 920 smartphone.

We have no idea why it happened, but if you planned to get yourself the 920, we suggest you to choose another similar HTC-based Windows Mobile handset, such as T-Mobile's Shadow, for example.

Five pictures of the new Nokia N96 have recently leaked in the web.

They are nice, but unfortunately as always pop up without any details about the device itself. Basing on images we are able to find just a few specifications.

Well, N96 is a black slider phone, similar to the N81, with a 5Mpix camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a dual LED flash, and external music controls.

Several Chinese mobile websites leaked some details on a new smartphone, apparently the Motorola A1600 MOTOMING 2.

The A1600 is the upgraded version of the popular A1200 model, and offers faster performance, new features, and updated design.

It runs on Linux-based OS, supports quad-band GSM/GPRS networks, and comes with a 3.

It looks like 2007 turned out to be a bad year for Palm.

Palm is one of the leading smartphone manufacturers, nevertheless the company bore losses as competition in this sector was too rough in the past 12 months and their marketing and product promotion campaigns weren't successful.
