There's a good chance that at least one of HP iPAQ 900 series smartphones will be available in the U.S. as it has recently been spotted at the FCC site.

The most likely carrier is AT&T, though no company has announced its intention to pick up the handset yet.

FCC Unveils Pantech UTStarcom TXT8010

FCC has posted a picture of an upcoming UTStarcom TXT8010 smartphone from Pantech codenamed Elvis.

It looks pretty fat, and apparently has a landscape screen and a QWERTY-keyboard. In rest, specifications are mid-end and include:

  • Dual-band (850/1900Mhz) CDMA;
  • 1.3Mpix camera;
  • Bluetooth;
  • Brew platform;
  • microSD card slot.

Verizon Wireless announced a new unlimited "E-mail and Web for Smartphone" plan for the owners of SMT5800, XV6800, MOTO Q9m and some future handsets.

It will cost you just $30 a month, but keep in mind that this is not a data plan, downloading isn't free.

FCC Approves Sony Ericsson G700 Smartphone

FCC has approved a new Sony Ericsson smartphone.

The new G700 model was first unveiled at this year's MWC event in Barcelona and is described as a "touchscreen organizer for the masses".

We don't know if it will make it stateside as you know how it usually happens with SE devices - they pass FCC, but remain unavailable for the U.S. customers.

E-TEN Glofiish M750 Unveiled

E-TEN announced a new Glofiish Pocket PC smartphone called the M750.

This is a non-3G version of the M810 model, and will be available in a few weeks in May.

Specifications for the E-TEN Glofiish M750 are as following:

  • OS: Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional;
  • Band: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz;
  • Data: GPRS/EDGE/Wi-Fi;
  • Dimensions: 110mm x 59mm x 17.

World’s First dual-SIM Windows Mobile Smartphones from HKC

The Hong Kong based manufacturer HKC has released a pair of new dual-SIM Windows Mobile smartphones, first of their kind, according to the company. The first is the W1000 dual CDMA/GSM phone, while the other is a dual GSM handset called G1000.

The most interesting thing here is that these two are capable of running two separate accounts (SIM cards) simultaneously, while also being able to disable one of them anytime.

MiTAC Mio Lovebird

MiTAC Mio came up with an affordable WM-based touchscreen smartphone called Lovebird.

There's not much to say about this one. We don't like the design, but specifications aren't bad. Maybe some of you will find it interesting.

  • Quad-band GSM;

Vodafone Launches Samsung F490

As expected, Samsung F490 was launched on Vodafone's network.

This is a full-featured smartphone introduced last year; it has a large 3.2" touch-sensitive display with Croix interface, a 5Mpix camera, HSDPA support, stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot, and much more.

The official price is unknown as of yet.

Well, judging by the photo, the upcoming Sony Ericsson P5 "Paris" is a slider handset with a large display and a P1-type keypad running Symbian UIQ 3.3 platform.

They say it will be officially announced in May and will start shipping in September. Unfortunately, that's all we can tell you now.
