Open source archive for Xperia S released

The Xperia open source archive has rolled out from Sony today, so the developers have all the necessary tools to manufacture a kernel and start building ROMs for the Xperia S.The message from Sony goes to advise the developers that in order to flash the software, there were a few extra steps and a special script, all of which were duly linked along with a proprietary firmware file.Sony also provided instructions for the building and last but not least, they invited the developers to approach them with any questions that might make stumble with regards to the source.

Sprint's HTC One X coming in June

According to the most recent rumor, the HTC One X to launch on June 10th and will be given the name Jet.It also looks like the One X is going to go under the screwdriver and have its quad-core Tegra 3 processor swapped out for the Snapdragon S4 processor when it launches.So you may be forced to wait a little longer if you want to get your hands on the ultra slick HTC One X/ Jet.

A new Samsung Galaxy Beam with Android on board was recently unveiled.It is expected to arrive in India come April, but unfortunately no confirmation of the release date for other countries have yet to be revealed. No word on pricing just yet, but it is expected to retail for $500 off contract.Galaxy Beam will feature a built-in pico projector, a 4” WVGA TFT display, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 1.

Samsung releases Android 4.0 source code for Galaxy S2

Samsung has released the source code for the Android 4.0 update. XDA-developers have discovered that the latest Windows Phone update would raise the app multitasking limit from 5 to 8.While this addition might not seem like much, it might be the differences between losing a background app you are looking to keep running or allowing the OS to shut it off.Amongst the other improvements and fixes made with the latest software update are improvements for MMS, better SIM contact management and a new location alert icon.

Droid Fighter has appeared in Verizon’s system a couple of times in the past, but unfortunately details and photos of the device remained scarce.Recently, an alleged photo of the device has been leaked online. The Droid Fighter looks a lot like the RAZR.The report has also revealed that the Droid Fighter will feature a 3,300mAh battery much like the RAZR MAXX, but unfortunately additional details of the device still remain unknown.

A new version of FireFox for the N9 has been released alongside a Flash Player from Nokia that acts as a plug-in to the browser.FireFox for the N9 will load full webpages on your phone, although we’re guess that could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.Nokia is trying to make the argument that a full-fledged browsing experience will allow you access to all the features of a website that a mobile browser can’t.
