The first quarter of 2008 turned out hard for Sprint.
During that period they lost 1.09 million subscribers and their average monthly revenue per customer reduced to $56. However, the company still has 52.8 subscribers left, securing itself on the third place on the market after AT&T and Verizon.
Officials say the result was predictable as the company continues to reword its business model and evolve.

While there's a lineup of upcoming high-end HTC smartphones scheduled for H2 launch, Palm doesn't intend to fall back and is set to release its new Treo 800w on Sprint in the near future.
The handset will be available on July 22 in Charcoal Black color scheme.

- Windows Mobile 6.

Verizon will be the second CDMA operator to offer the BlackBerry Curve.
The phone will be available online starting May 9, and on May 12 it will appear in stores. The prices are $319.99 with a $50 rebate on a 2-year contract or $439.99 contract free.
Sprint in its turn still lists the Curve as "Coming Soon", despite that the handset should have been already released.

Sprint has released the Sanyo Katana LX, a nice replacement to the older Katana II available for the same $49.99 with a contract after rebates.

According to Korea's Electronic Times, the LG Voyager will become available for both AT&T and Sprint customers before the year's end.
This means we can expect two new versions of the handset: CDMA without MediaFLO for Sprint and GSM variant for AT&T. Let's hope this turns out to be true...
The LG Voyager was released in the end of 2007 and is currently available from Verizon Wireless.

It looks like Sprint will soon stop offering the Palm Treo 755p, as the handset has been recently removed from the carrier's website.
This makes sense considering that the Palm Centro is now the king of the hill at Sprint.
Anyway, you will still be able to get the 755p model at some popular on-line retailers.

Sprint has finally decided to add some new devices to its Nextel iDEN network, one of which is the Wi-Fi-enabled BlackBerry. It will be available later this year along with some other handsets from Sanyo, Samsung, Motorola and LG.
They are all CDMA phones, but use iDEN network for push-to-talk.
We'll let you know once the iDEN BlackBerry is released.

Sprint was the first carrier to reveal its plans on upgrading its Windows Mobile 6 handsets.
They intend to do this in Summer, and start shipping new WM 6.1-based phones during the second half of the year.
Currently, Sprint's Windows Mobile 6.0 lineup includes Samsung Ace, Motorola Moto Q9c as well as the HTC Touch and Mogul.

Sprint now offers two new phones from Sanyo called Pro-200 and Pro-700, which support the carrier's Push-to-talk over cellular technology.
Apart from that the two handsets also support Qualcomm’s QChat technology, Group Connect, and remote contact information management via the Sprint Mobile Sync online tool.
- The Sanyo Pro-200 has a slimmer silver-coated body and costs $49.

The new RIM BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone will be available this month for Sprint subscribers.
Just to remind you, the device features a 2Mpixl camera, media player, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, microSD/SDHC card slot, voice-activated dialing, voice notes recorder and the ability to be used as a modem with a laptop.
