LG Rumor is the company's new messaging phone available from Sprint. It is a middle classl candybar handset with both numeric keypad and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 176 x 220 screen, Bluetooth, 1.3Mpix camera, microSD slot. The phone will be available in black or white colors for $80 with a two-year service agreement.

Samsung and Sprint have unveiled today a new version of the UpStage phone, called the B'Phone ("B" from Beyonce). It has the same specs and features but comes in a gold and burgundy finish, and offers some pre-loaded Beyonce video and picture content. Features include 1.3Mpix camera, microSD slot (up to 2GB), and EV-DO data.

Gary Forsee, Sprint's chairman, president and CEO has resigned today. James Hance will take on his place the chairman of the board, and Paul Saleh will be the company's temporary CEO. According to a board representative, Forsee has left the company in order to improve its performance and forward direction.

Apparently, Sprint will release a ROM update for its Mogul smartphone on October 22nd. The new ROM will include a number of bug fixes and enhancements, one of which is the upgraded stereo Bluetooth. Many users complained about low sound quality and interruptions in audio playback when connected via Bluetooth, but now this problem is fixed.

Just log on to Sprint's WAP portal, and start searching for content, local listings, maps and the web for information. If the GPS on your device is turned on, it will automatically narrow the results to those available in your area.

Sprint will offer its subscribers in Denver and Indianapolis a new femtocell device to help improve in-home reception. The Airvave is a small pluggable unit, an equivalent to T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home, which uses home broadband connection to extend regular cellular coverage up to 5000 square feet. Up to 3 people can make calls from an Airave at once.
