To Verizon subscribers, users of the BlackBerry Storm 9530: if you recall, the carrier was planning to release the OS 4.7.0.141 firmware update for the handset, but rejected it because of one single issue. Well, the latest .148 build could be the replacement for it. Look it up, especially since official updates from VZW are a rarity.

BlackBerryOS.com basing on the info they received from a reliable "insider" said that the upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 will be out as early as next month. According to the source, the internal deadline for training tech support is the end of May. It's not a big surprise considering all the recent leaks regarding the handset, but for those who purchased the original Storm just recently this doesn't sound very good.

Vodafone UK customers using either BlackBerry 9500 or 9530 Storm can now update their handsets to OS 4.7.0.141 - an OFFICIAL update from the carrier. Yes, with all the numerous leaked OS versions, an official one looks like a big deal.

It looks like RIM is preparing a successor to its BlackBerry Storm. Reportedly, Jim Balsillie was quoted as saying “we have next-generation devices with [touch] and the whole roadmap.” This means that some new touchscreen-based BlackBerry's are on their way, though there was no mention of the possible Storm 2.

Some sources indicate a period around September 2009, when we'll know what exactly RIM is up to.

Telus has become the second CDMA carrier (after Bell) to release the OS 4.7.0.122 update BlackBerry Storm 9530. But ther're both Canadian companies, and what about their southern neighbours? Well, it looks like Verizon will be the next.

The previously rumored BlackBerry Storm 2 has been confirmed yesterday by a RIM spokesperson over in the Netherlands. The device will be available for purchase later this year or early 2010 and will supposedly solve the weaknesses of the original Storm, with regards to typing. This means they could even include a physical keyboard. Well see...

Rumor has it that RIM will be bringing its second BlackBerry Storm sometime this September. The supposed BlackBerry Storm 2 should include some interesting updates, one of which is Wi-Fi support, lacking on the current Storm.

We're pretty sure the new model will be no less popular than the first one.

We hear that Verizon is planning to release the OS 4.7.0.113 firmware as its next official firmware for the BlackBerry Storm. That's definitely nice to hear, as the last official update from Verizon was released 4 months ago, and during that time we've only seen countless unoficial builds.
