Nokia 6210 Navigator has passed the FCC hurdle.
The phone is basically the same as its predecessor, the 6110 Navigator, but has a better 3.2Mpix camera with dual-LED flash, Wi-Fi and runs the new version of Symbian S60 OS (3.2). Expect the 6210 Navigator to hit Nokia's Flagship stores in New York and Chicago later this the year.
No word on carrier partners as of yet.

Well, judging by the photo, the upcoming Sony Ericsson P5 "Paris" is a slider handset with a large display and a P1-type keypad running Symbian UIQ 3.3 platform.
They say it will be officially announced in May and will start shipping in September. Unfortunately, that's all we can tell you now.

UIQ Technologies announced the availability of a new version of their Symbian-based UIQ platform. The latest UIQ 3.3 build is now available to phone manufacturers and developers, and is targeted at a broader market segment. Some of the new features include:
- Integrated Opera Mobile 9 Browser;
- UIQ Dashboard with (Opera) widgets support;
- Unified messaging (SMS and MMS);
- Java JSR 248 MSA Fullset - Mobile Services Architecture (MSA) support;

FCC has just approved the new Nokia N78 for U.S. largest carrier AT&T. This is a mid-range Symbian-based smartphone working on GSM 850/1900 bands and featuring a 3.2Mpix camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, AGPS support, FM radio, and other stuff.

Opera Mobile browser has been updated to version 9.5. The latest build offers several enhancements, including faster browsing speeds and support for more Web technologies (Widgets, JavaScript, Ajax, Flash and Flash Lite 3), which deliver a more desktop-like browsing experience on a smartphone. Some of the functions of the Opera Mobile include page content zooming, offline browsing, sending web links or images as SMS/MMS messages and more.

Nokia has finally announced the launch of their flagship N95 8GB handset in the U.S. This Symbian S60 based 3G HSDPA-enabled smartphone should be available in Nokia flagship stores in New York and Chicago and from online retailers during this quarter. You can get one unlocked for $749, or if you think the phone is too pricy wait until AT&T picks it up.

Another Sony Ericsson P5i photo has leaked in the Web. It is a Symbian 9.1-based slider phone with a 2.8" VGA display, 5Mpix CyberShot camera, as well as Wi-Fi, GPS, 160MB of on-board memory, M2/microSD slots, all operating on a 360MHz CPU. The official announcement will be made in February at the Mobile World Congress.

According to Opera Software, they plan to release their Opera Mobile 9 web browser in the first half of 2008. The software will be compatible with both Windows Mobile 6 OS and Symbian UIQ platform, and will come embedded in some of the upcoming handsets. There was no word on when the application will be available for download.
