In order not to darken the release of their new G1, T-Mobile has removed the data cap of 1GB imposed on the handset. The following is their statement:

"Our goal, when the T-Mobile G1 becomes available in October, is to provide affordable, high-speed data service allowing customers to experience the full data capabilities of the device and our 3G network.

T-Mobile's Android-based G1 has been officially announced today at a press conference in New York. It will be available in the U.S. for $179 on a two-year agreement, or $399 contract-free on October 22nd, followed by the UK in early November, and Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and the Netherlands in the Q1 2009. Specifications include:

• Quad-band GSM/EDGE;
• HSDPA 1700 / 2100;
• Wi-Fi;
• 3D graphics acceleration;
• 3Mpix camera;
• 1GB integrated storage plus microSD expansion;
• Android Market for on-device app purchases;
• Amazon MP3 app for on-device music purchases;
• Push Gmail support with full HTML client;
• Bluetooth (but no A2DP);
• Google Maps with Street View;

The handset lacks:

• Microsoft Exchange support;
• Desktop synchronization;
• 3.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the upcoming HTC Dream / G1 will be available for $199 with 2-year contract when it launches on T-Mobile in less then a week.

T-Mobile has confirmed that it will announce the first Android-based phone (G1) at an event in New York City on September 23rd. The release is scheduled for the end of October, and while the price remains unknown, it's been said that HTC plans to ship around 600,000 to 700,000 units of the handset.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8220 has been put out at T-Mobile's website. Unfortunately, it's not yet available for purchase, and will be released in a couple of weeks in red and black colors. Stay tuned for more details...

On October 15th T-Mobile will launch in three new colors for the BlackBerry 8120, including “Frost”, “Black Emerald”, and “Indigo”. As always, everything else remains the same.

FCC has leaked a schematic image of the upcoming BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. There is no info available about the handset, but with no barriers from the FCC on the way, we could see it landing at T-Mobile in the coming weeks.

Rumor has it that T-Mobile is set to announce the Google's G1 sometime this month in New York. September 23rd is the most probable date, but neither company has confirmed or denied that. Either way, the waiting game won't be long.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8220 is now listed at the RIM's official site, and will be available exclusively from T-Mobile US in black an red when it's released. Pricing and release information is still unavailable, but will be announced really soon.
