Telstra customers will forget about bad reception with their new 165i “Country Phone” by ZTE. And its not surprising, with such a huge and ugly antenna you can be sure you'll have great reception in almost any conditions. Apart from that, the phone also comes with AGPS, 3G, Bluetooth support, FM radio, and a 2Mpix camera. It will be available starting December 1st for $529 AUD ($326).

Today Telstra has added the new Samsung F480 to its Next G lineup in Australia. The phone will be available for free on a 2-year contract with a $60 plan.

The year-old Samsung BlackJack II smartphone has made it to Australia as the Samsung i617T. The phone is now available from Telstra, on the Australia's fastest 3G network, and is targeted at business customers. The unsubsidized version costs $589.

Australian carrier Telstra announced it will be bringing the new Blackberry Bold to its network in late September. While it's noticeably later than the global summer release, the handset will be available at no cost for business customers when it goes on sale in fall.

Telstra subscribers in Australia will soon be able to get their hands on the Apple iPhone 3G. The handset will be available starting July 11 at a price of $279 for the 8GB model or $399 for the 16GB model and will come with a 2-year contract.

The carrier also announced Next G iPhone 3G plans, which start from $30 per month and include free Wi-Fi access at Telstra hotspots.

Australian Telstra will be the world's first cellular operator to carry i-mate Ultimate 8502 and 9502 WM6-based smartphones.

It also has an exclusive right to be the only carrier to offer them in Australia.

The release will take place in early March.
