Owners of Toshiba TG01 Windows Phones can now download the official Windows Mobile 6.5 software update directly from the company’s Europe site. The page is in German, but there's a link for the English version of the ROM.

FCC has approved a CDMA version of the Snapdragon-powered Toshiba TG01 yesterday, which means that the first carrier to offer the device in the U.S. will be either Sprint or Verizon, or both. Furthermore, the test documents list the device as "production" (not prototype) suggesting that TG01 is almost ready for market. Now all that's left is to wait for a confirmation from carriers.

The new Toshiba TG01, which is already available in Japan and some European countries will be landing in the UK on Thursday, July 9th. Stay tuned for more details, if there will be any.

If you're currently in Spain, the new Toshiba TG01, which was released this week in Japan can now be purchased locally through Movistar. Depending on your contract and plan pricing you can get this Snapdragon-based powerhouse for free. We're not sure whether the unlocked version is available, though. But if you live in Spain, what's holding you? Get it now and you won't regret it.

Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo and Toshiba have launched today one of  this year's hottest handsets, the T-01A, which is the same TG01 device revealed by Toshiba back in February. It's features include:

• Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon CPU;
• 4.1" WVGA (800 x 480) resistive touchscreen display;
• HSDPA;
• GPS;
• Wi-Fi;
• Toshiba's custom-built UI;
• Windows Mobile 6.

A couple of pictures of the upcoming Toshiba TG02 and TG03 handsets have surfaced yesterday. The both look as awesome as their predecessor, the TG01 model, and hopefully will be released by the end of 2009. Here's what we knpw about them so far:

Toshiba TG02:

The recently launched Toshiba TG01 got cloned recently. The counterpart is named JXD318, and is basically a portable media player (PMP). It comes with a considerably smaller 3" screen, TV in/out and a 1.3Mpix camera with video capture capability.

No word on pricing or avalability as of yet.

An unknown Toshiba handset has been spotted at FCC yesterday. It has an “E01” sticker at the bottom while the user manual indicates that there is a 96 x 39 OLED secondary display, which is 1.1" smaller than the TG01's. Apparently, its a Windows Mobile 6.1 powered flip phone, which is quite a rare combination...
