Today LG and Verizon Wireless announced the LG Cosmos Touch, a feature phone. It will cost $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new 2-year Verizon Wireless contractThe Cosmo Touch offers:

• 2.8" WVGA touchscreen;
• slide-out 4-row QWERTY keyboard;
• Flash powered user interface;
• Bluetooth 2.1;
• microSD card slot for up to 16GB of memory;
• support for VZ Navigator;

A poster on the xda-developers forum who supposedly had dinner with HTC's main distributor in Europe, claims that the Touch Pro3 will be available sometime in Q3 in Europe. It will most likely run Windows Mobile 6.5 (probably upgradeable, WM7 won't be released by then), and, according to the distributor the handset will be smaller and lighter than the predecessor with a 3" WQVGA resistive screen.

WM-based HTC Touch HD appears to have native support for Android 2.0 OS:

Sprint is planning to release a Windows Mobile 6.5 update for the HTC Touch Pro 2 "by the end of first quarter, 2010" They claim that there will be "significant enhancements to the Touch Pro2 user interface which will allow additional customization / personalization options and more integration with the applications users access most." Why don't they update it to 6.

A quick note: this handset runs Qualcomm's BrewMP OS, which makes it a featurephone, rather than a successor to HTC Touch2.

T-Mobie UK has announced the upcomng release of the HTC HD2, most likely on November 11th. They have also said that the handset will be available from a US carrier in early 2010, but didn't name the exact one.The HD2 runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 platform, has a 4.3" touch display and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
