FCC site has unveiled the new Samsung U940, a CDMA version of the Ultra Edition F700. It is a dual slider with a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth and memory card slot, and a 2Mpix camera. The most likely carrier is Verizon, as the phone has company's logo printed on it. Finally, the CDMA model could have a different UI unlike its GSM brother, which uses Samsung's Croix touch interface.

According to reports, LG plans to release two new handsets for Verizon Wireless in the coming months. The first is the VX9100, a replacement for the VX9900 enV. It has a more streamline and thinner design, since the "camera hump" has been removed, and a redesigned front keypad with an Up & Down arrow keys instead of the standard 5 way navigational d-pad.

LG unveiled the new KF510 GSM slider. The phone is pretty slim, measuring just 10.9mm, offers haptic feedback, and comes with a touch-activated navigation area on the front face under the main display, as well as 3Mpix camera, and an MP3 player. The LG KF510 will come into the global market next month and will cost between $300 and $350 depending on the region.

The recently revealed patent from Nokia unveils complany's plans for integrating a new gesture control technology S60 Touch that will allow users to control a device without even touching it. The new technology is based on Ultrasonic Transducers (USTs) set around the perimeter of the device, which would create a 3D gesture touchless interface, a perfect alternative to the iPhone's multi-touch screen.
