A new ROM upgrade v1.40.707.1 is now available at HTC support site for HTC Touch Diamond2 users in Asia. The most notable change is the phone's updated radio, but we can't tel if it will improve reception of battery life. The name's Touch Viva... It's not HTC, and it's not approved by Microsoft. But it's the first handset to come with Windows Mobile 6.5 installed out of the box. The price is just 1,099 yuan (about $161) off contract, so you might as well give it a try. Oh, that is if you happen to live in China.

New Sprint subscribers looking to buy the HTC Touch Pro should head over to Amazon, as the phone is currently available there for just $99 (after a $100 mail in rebate). It is a lot cheaper than paying $299 to Sprint directly.

It looks like the FCC has approved the HTC Rhodium, a Touch Pro2 variant which should be available from T-Mobile soon. According to FCC’s documentation, the device will have:

HTC has released a new ROM update version 1.57.831.1 for Touch HD users in Hong Kong. The changes are as follows:

• Auto-database downloading during Connection Setup is now disabled;
• Improved Bluetooth connection when using Internet Sharing;
• The roaming icon doesn't display under the non-roaming circumstances

Touch HD users from other regions can install the upgrede using the hspl or uspl method.

O2 UK has announced that it's started offering the HTC Touch Diamond2 for free for all those willing to tie themselves to a £30 monthly 2-year contract, along with 9 months half price line rental (or £50 instant cash back).

The unlocked version of the HTC Touch Cruise is now available through Best Buy in the U.S. It costs $549.99 and is expected to start shipping in 1-2 weeks.

A live photo of the HTC Touch Pro2 with T-Mobile USA branding has surfaced today, indicating that the handset is destined for the U.S. market. To strenghthen that belief notice that the QWERTY keyboard doesn’t have European characters like € on it... Nice!
