Verizon's XV6900 (HTC Touch) smartphone has received an official Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM upgrade. It includes all the latest firmware updates, enables EVDO Rev. A support, and offers an updated MMS client, Microsoft Remote Desktop Application, VZNavigator support, as well as support for 16GB microSD memory cards.

Today HTC has announced its Touch Cruise smartphone, bundled with a new software feature called Footprints. This feature will allow users to take notes and an audio clip associated with images taken with the phone's cam, while identifying its specific geographical location. In addition to geo-tagging images, Footprints also auto-names them with the general location or area where the picture was taken.

The service manual for the HTC’s Touch HD has surfaced today. The most intriguing thing about the handset is the said availability of 850 and 1900 HSDPA bands, which means the phone supports U.S. 3G coverage. This could also mean the Touch HD is likely to be released in states.
While we don't know that for sure now, those who will manage to bring the phone stateside will apparently be able to use 3G on it.

It's hard to tell whether this is real or not, but judging by picture it looks like it's a BlackBerry Application Suite running on a HTC Touch Pro. Rumors of such a thing were going around back in 2007, and assuming that the photo is real, it's very nice to finally see it on a live shot.

HTC has issued a new update for the Hong Kong version of the HTC Touch HD. The update takes the ROM version to 1.19.831.0 and the Radio version to 1.09.25.14, and includes minor fixes, some of which are listed below:
- Resolves the following CSL Real-time Stock Quote & Foreign Exchange Service issues;
- Fixes the font size display problem in Opera;
- Resolves the issue of getting an error when downloading songs from CSL WAP site with .
