Today Vodafone's HTC Touch Diamond has received a firmware update to version 1.97.161.4. However, the official description of it won't tell you anything, as it only includes the following statement: “updating the software (firmware) will usually give you improved performance and often extra functionality”.

Verizon Wireless has finally released the HTC Touch Pro, so take this one into consideration if you're planning to buy a Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone. The handset is available for $419.99 before a $70 mail-in rebate, and come to think of it, the same offer from AT&T will cost you less by $50...

Good news for Bell customers: the carrier has managed to get the HTC Touch Pro before Telus and already sells it for $239.95 CAD (about $195) with a 3-year contract. If you think that's too long, don't worry, Telus isn't better when it comes to contract terms.

Fortunately for most of us, such rules exist only in Canada.

Telus Mobility has finally released the CDMA HTC Touch Pro for its customers in Canada. All willing can get it for $299.99 on a 3-year agreement (why not for the lifetime?), or you can pay $549.99, $599.99 or $649.99 on a 2-, 1-year plans and outright, respectively.

Who's getting one?

Verizon customers waiting for the HTC Touch Diamond will have to wait a bit longer, as the phone has been delayed until January next year.

However, the HTC Touch Pro is expected to arrive just in time for Christmas, so maybe you'll settle for one of those instead?

Boy Genius has managed to get a hold of the leaked “Need to know guide” for the Verizon’s version of the HTC Touch Pro. Now we know that the handset will feature a Qualcomm 7500A CPU running at 528MHz, 512MB ROM and 192MB of RAM.

AT&T's HTC Fuze (Touch Pro in fact) is now available for purchase online. It's going for $300 after rebate and a 2-year contract, and can easily compete with such giants like iPhone and BlackBerry Bold. What would you pick?

The long-awaited HTC Touch HD has been released today on Orange UK. I must say the price is very reasonable: £49.99 on an 18 month £40/month plan, which includes 250MB of browsing traffic.

Want a cool touchscreen handset, but hate the iPhone? Then HTC Touch HD is the one for you.

Expansys UK has announced that it has the HTC Touch HD, but if you want this handset you might wa to be quick, as there are only 100 units in stock. The device isn't cheap, £524.99 a piece, though it will come cheaper (£446.80 ($705)) if you buy from outside of the UK, as you won’t need to pay VAT.

Last doubts dissapeared - the HTC Touch Pro will sono be released on Verizon. The handset will feature 512MB of ROM, TV-out, a 3.2Mpix camera and microSD card slot. The most probable release date is November 14th.
