HTC announced today that on October 31 the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade software for WM5 devices will be removed from the company's website. Those handsets include HTC S621, S620, P4350, P3300 and Advantage models. If you own one of them, you have till the end of month to download the upgrate for your phone.

Samsung-made Sprint ACE smartphone has received a Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade.

Sprint claims that it's bringing an "Enhanced Time-Saving Mobile Experience" to the phone, as well as the ability to install unsigned apps, and support for turn-by-turn navigation.The update is available here.

Owners of the HTC's Touch Cruise and Touch Dual can now update their handsets to Windows Mobile 6.1. The updates are available here:

The second firmware update for the Samsung Omnia is available for users in France, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines. The update package is rather heavy, though - 108MB.

Good news for the AT&T's Pantech C810 Duo owners: you can now update your phone's system to Windows Mobile 6.1. The firmware upgrade is available at the official website, and besides Windows Mobile 6.1, appparently includes some "other enhancements", which the company didn't specify.

Samsung has released a new firmware update for its Instinct handset. It should fix some interface issues and boost up the browser's rerformance. You can download the update via Instinct’s Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) service, but be advised that you need to have the previous firmware version installed. If you have an older version, you'll have to install two latest updates one by one.

Rogers and Bell have officially launched OS 4.5 for their Canadian customers.

Rogers released the new OS for the Curve 8310 and 8320, while Bell for the Curve 8330 and Pearl 8130.

Go for the update it you own one of these. Visit the BlackBerry Software Download section and find Bell Mobility and Rogers Wireless links in the very bottom of the page.

Owners of the Nokia N82 can now update their handsets to the latest firmware version (v30).

It includes updated Flash Lite, Maps 2.0, new music player, less sensitive automatic display rotation, as well as other performance improvements and additions.

 

That's odd, Nokia N96 has started selling just recently, and has already got a firmware update.The new firmware (version 11.018) is currently available for European models, and besides applying a number of bug fixes and stability improvements offers nothing new to be considered important. We say don't rush to update just yet...
