Verizon has introduced a new low-end flip phone today, called the CDM8950. Features are lame, but the price isn't bad: $29.99 on a 2-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate, and INpulse prepaid customers will be able to get it for $99.99 after rebate.

Apparently, Verizon's XV6900 has received an unofficial software update. According to the source, the new build version 3.14.605.1 updates the OS to WM 6.1, and adds other cool stuff like gpsOne, VZ Navigator and Opera Mobile.

Verizon-branded Samsung Omnia has been spotted today. Engadget has posted a blurry spy shot, proving that the phone exists. One can clearly see the Verizon logo, as well as VZ Navigator and Visual Voice Mail icons on the screen, so there can be no doubts.
The guy who took the picture says the phone will be available by the end of the year and will feature a 5Mpix camera and 8GB of internal storage.
