Verizon announced that the XV6800 it recently launched is finally available for purchase online and by phone order. The package will include the device itself, a wall charger, USB cable, extra stylus, and carrying pouch. According to Howard Forums users, the handset costs $249 after rebates and 2-year service agreement.

Verizon announced that next year it will allow using any phones on its network, including those, which are not available directly from them. The company will publish technical standards for hardware developers who will use them to create phones for its network, and any device that meets the minimum requirements set by Verizon will be certified and activated for usage.

It looks like Verizon finally plans to make the Palm Treo 755p smartphone available to its customers. If you recall, the device is available for Sprint subscribers for more than 6 months now, and Verizon simply must launch it before Christmas if they intend to generate good sales. Treo 755p operates on Garnet OS and features 64MB of on-board memory, a 320 x 320 screen, a QWERTY keyboard, 3G support, and a miniSD card slot.

LG Venus and Voyager have finally been released! The Venus is a stylish slider with a large touch-sensitive QVGA display available for $199 after a $50 rebate on a 2-year contract with Verizon. The Voyager is a more interesting piece, quite similar to the LG enV phone, only much more powerful.

Apparently, Verizon Wireless will be releasing the new Samsung U900 FlipShot phone this Wednesday, on November 21. The new model looks like a successor to the a990 and despite being thin and lightweight still offers very decent multimedia capability. Some of the features include a 3Mpix camera, a swiveling display, external music controls, and TV out.

LG Voyager and Venus are now available for pre-order at the Verizon website. The current pricing is the following: - Black LG Venus: $199 with a 2-year contract and $369 at full retail
- LG Voyager: $299 with a 2-year contract and a $50 instant rebate; $469 at full retail
However, it is not clear yet when online orders for the Voyager will be shipped.
