According to some leaked internal documents, Verizon Wireless will be launching the new Motorola Entice W766 clamshell on September 22nd through online sales.

The phone features:

  • Threaded texting;
  • 2Mpix camera with video capture;
  • Support for VCAST and VZ Navigator;
  • 2.2" 176 x 220 pixel screen;
  • microSD slot (up to 8GB)

Pricing includes:

  • $39.

BlackberryOS.com managed to get their hands on some internal Verizon documents, according to which there are three new handsets scheduled for release next month on the Big Red. First it's the BlackBerry Storm 2 launching October 14th, then the Motorola's Android-based Sholes, as well as the LG VX8575 "Chocolate Touch" (a variant of the BL40 Chocolate Touch) launching "mid-October".

Verizon introduced a new wireless USB modem, the Verizon Wireless UMW190, developed by Personal Communications Devices. It is already available for purchase online and through the company's business sales channels at a price of $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new 2-year customer agreement.

Key features:

  • Dual-Band CDMA Rev. A; Tri-Band (850/1900/2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA) and Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800, 850/1900);
  • Pre-installed SIM card;
  • USB connection;
  • Compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Vista;
  • Visual status indicator;
  • Built-in text messaging, an added communication option

Samsung Rogue and Intensity from Verizon on September 8

September 8th is the day when Verizon will release two new QWERTY sliders from Samsung, called the "Rogue" and "Intensity". The lower end Intensity is a 2G handset with a 1.3Mpix camera, and not much else, while the Rogue has a 3.1" WVGA AMOLED display, 3Mpix cam with autofocus, HTML browser, and TouchWiz UI.

Both models will hit the shelves on September 8; the Rogue will cost you $199.

Verizon Now Offers Storms for $49.99, the launch of Storm 2 imminent

With the upcoming launch of the BlackBerry Storm 2, Verizon decided to dispose of its stock of old Storms. And what is a better way to sell old handsets than making them dirt cheap. If you're willing you can now get the 9530 for a just $49.99 on a two-year contract after rebate. That's $100 lower than the original price, which makes it a great deal.

However, we'd suggest you to wait a bit, save up some money and buy the second Storm.

These are some off-screen shots of the Verizon’s inventory system showing off the carrier's upcoming lineup of smartphones already added to its inventory database. Here we see Palm Pre (P101), Palm Eos (P121), BlackBerry Storm 2, HTC Touch Pro2 (XV6875), Samsung Omnia II, and the Samsung Convoy U640 - all are known to be scheduled for release on Big Red.

We have some new info regarding the upcoming Samsung Rogue U960 for Verizon. According to EngadgetMobile, the phone will be released on September 8th at the following prices:

  • $99.99 after $100 rebate with 2-year contract;
  • $169.99 after $100 rebate with 1-year contract;
  • $419.99 full retail

Also, PhoneArena has posted a list of U960's specs, which they've received via Verizon's InfoManager system update.

Motorola Entice W766 in Verizon stores

Verizon stores have started stocking shipments of the new Motorola Entice W766. The phone won't be available until its predecessor's (W755) stock is depleted.

Improvements over the W755 include larger external and internal (2.2") displays, 2Mpix camera, Bluetooth 2.1 support, 8GB microSDHC support, and microUSB 2.0 data port. There will be touch-sensitive buttons for music control, ringtone mute/vibrate, and Bluetooth on/off, however the internal keyboard doesn't appear to have changed much.

Confirmed: Samsung Omnia II headed to Verizon Wireless Soon

According to Samsung Mobile USA’s website, the new Samsung Omnia II will be “coming soon exclusively at Verizon Wireless.” You can sign up on Samsung’s email list to be immediately updated when the phone goes live.

Like any successor, the second Omnia is superior to it's predecessor in terms of specs:

  • 3.7" WVGA AMOLED touchscreen
