Verizon announced their new SMT5800 aka HTC S720 smartphone at CES today, which actually wasn't a surprise as we knew it was coming. Here's what the device offers:

• Windows Mobile 6 Standard OS;
• Numeric keypad and full slide-out QWERTY keyboard;
• 2Mpix camera with video capture;
• Bluetooth 2.

Verizon and LG came up with a new firmware update for the LG Voyager. The phone had many performance issues and glitches when it was released, but now most of them can be fixed. You can update your handset at your local Verizon store.

• Adds ability to reset V CAST Mobile TV client

If you recall, not long ago we mentioned that Verizon Wireless is going to make Palm Treo 755p available for its customers.

Now we know when this will happen and how much the device will cost. Treo 755p should be available online on December 17, and in Verizon stores starting January 7.

Verizon Wireless has officially launched the Pink version of the LG Venus to add more female appeal to the phone.

All specs remain the same, and the price didn't change either.

The handset still costs $200 (after $50 rebate and 2-year contract).

Verizon Wireless has added a new color for its LG VX8350 mobile phone.

It is now available in glossy dark red finish, and has the same features as the original black version including support for V CAST Video and V CAST Music services.

Verizon announced that the XV6800 it recently launched is finally available for purchase online and by phone order.

The package will include the device itself, a wall charger, USB cable, extra stylus, and carrying pouch. According to Howard Forums users, the handset costs $249 after rebates and 2-year service agreement.

Verizon announced that next year it will allow using any phones on its network, including those, which are not available directly from them.

The company will publish technical standards for hardware developers who will use them to create phones for its network, and any device that meets the minimum requirements set by Verizon will be certified and activated for usage.
