Virgin Mobile announced that it will soon be offering the low-end LG Rumor 2 messaging phone. The device comes with a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth and 1.3Mpix camera. It is also available from Sprint, which is the future owner of Virgin Mobile.

Wow, we would never expect such a turn... Sprint has officially announced that it intends to acquire Virgin Mobile and according to the release, the deal is done. The CDMA carrier is ready to cough up $483 million in total for the acquisition, and will also cover VM’s $250 million in debt at closing.
It is yet unknown whether Virgin Mobile will function as a separate company or it will be folded into Boost Mobile.

Samsung has recently published some information about its new m340 Mantra clamshell for Virgin Mobile. The phone comes with a VGA camera, Bluetooth, dual-displays and basic messaging features, and is now available for $60 via the Virgin Mobile USA web site.

Two previously unknown Kyocera phones have surfaced on the Virgin Mobile website.
The first is the X-tc, a QWERTY slider with pretty low-end features, including 1.3Mpix camera, stereo Bluetooth, web browser, media player with dedicated control keys and preloaded applications such as MySpace and Facebook. It will cost $100.
The second is the Jax, which is basically a re-branded S1300 Melo already available at Cricket and MetroPCS.

Virgin Mobile USA announced the upcoming release of its new Ocean 2 multimedia device. The second Helio Ocean will retain the dual slider form-factor, with both the sliding numeric keypad or QWERTY keyboard. Features will include 1GB of internal storage, microSDHC card slot, 3Mpix camera and a web browser supporting flash video.
