Sprint iDEN-CDMA Walkie-Talkie Service

Sprint works on a new walkie-talkie service for its Revision A CDMA network. Last week the company successfully completed a walkie-talkie call between an iDEN and a CDMA phone.

The new service will obviously be compatible with both iDEN and CDMA handsets and is scheduled to be launched in 2008.

The new Motorola Deluxe ic902 uses Sprint network for voice and data services and the Nextel National Network (iDEN) for walkie-talkie services.

The walkie-Talkie service allows users to instantly connect with more than 20 million Nextel Walkie-Talkie users across 5 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and Peru.
