Today Skype has released a new version (2.2.0.45) of its client compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. However, apart from that there seem to be no improvements over the last build...

MOTOMODDING has unearthed what they claim to be the official (yet unannounced) AT&T-branded Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM for the Motorola Q9h handset. What else can I say? Global Certification Forum (GCF) has approved a new smartphone, developed by Asus for O2, the O2 Xda Zest. Currently the details are scarce, we only know that it will run Windows Mobile, like all Xda's, and will feature tri-band GSM/UMTS 2100 radios, as well as video telephony and web browsing.

Sprint customers who own either HTC Touch or Mogul can now update their handset to Windows Mobile 6.1.
The Touch will now support Sprint's high-speed EV-DO Rev A. network, and will take advantage of the popular Opera web browser, and improved GPS functionality.
The HTC Mogul receives the same Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional upgrade. It will have updated versions of Microsoft Office and Live Search, as well as support for Sprint TV service.

It's been a while since we last heard of Velocity Mobile, but now they're back with a new Windows Mobile-powered smartphone sporting a model number 103. It has been spotted today at the FCC site.
There's also a 67-page user guide included with no actual specs listed in it. Instead there's a lot of information on how to navigate the system, how to insert the memory card, and how to change the battery.

HTC and Sprint have finally issued an official Windows Mobile 6.1 update for the Sprint Touch. It's nice to have an official build, though unofficial versions of this firmware have been available for quite a while now.
Just to remind you, the Windows Mobile 6.1 adds support for EV-DO Rev. A, an OEM version of Opera, enhances GPS functionality, and more.

Users in Italy and Germany will soon be able to get their hands on the latest touchscreen smartphone from Samsung, the SGH-i900 Omnia.
It will start shipping unlocked and unbranded on August 6 at a price of EUR649 ($1032) for the 8GB version, before taxes and subsidies.
The company also plans to release the device throughout Europe later on.
