AOL has released an official beta version of their AIM moible messenger for any Windows Mobile based handsets. Why beta? Because the application doesn't support file transfers yet, but we hope they'll include this function in the final build.

3rd party apps are good, but not as good as the original ones...

We're not sure about this, but it looks like Treo 700wx is getting an official Windows Mobile 6 upgrade courtesy of Verizon. There was no mention of WM 6.1 update and whether Sprint customers will get it. We'll see... Btw, apparently, if you want, you can upgrade your Treo 700wx to Windows Mobile 6.0 unofficially.

According to Akihabara, Toshiba is planning to release its Portege G810 smartphone on June 20th.

We don't know where exactly it will be available and how much it will cost, so stay tuned for more details as we get them. Meanwhile, here's a short speclist to give you an idea of what the device has to offer:

HP has finally decided to start shipping its iPAQ 900 / 914 3G business communicator, which was announced back in September of last year.

The device's system was updated to Windows Mobile 6.1, in rest everything remains the same: 2.46" display, Wi-Fi, GPS, HSDPA, 3Mpix camera, and a 1800mAh battery.

Worldwide shipping should start on June 30th.

Samsung has finally announced its i900 Omnia. We knew about its features long before its announcement, but let's recap them anyway:

• Networks: quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE + HSDPA 7.2Mbps;
• Connectivity: USB, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), Wi-Fi;
• Display: 3.2" WQVGA (240×400 pixels) touchscreen;

Owners of the Sprint's Motorola Q9c are the first to experience Windows Mobile 6.1 on their handset, as the carrier has just released an official system update.

You all know what WM 6.1 is, so it's not necessary to repeat it again. Go ahead, flash the device and make your friends jealous. :)

E-TEN has officially announced three new glofiish Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphones, which it plans to showcase at Computex this week. They are:

• DX900 - a dual-SIM handset very similar in design to the TV-friendly V900 (this model wa also announced) today;
• X900 - a quad-band GSM smartphone with HSDPA support, as well as Windows Mobile 6.

RoverPC P7 is a new smartphone that was just released in Russia. The device is a successor to the P6 model and has the following features:

• Windows Mobile 6.1;
• Marvell PCA270 416MHz processor;
• 2.8" QVGA touchscreen;
• Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi;
• Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz);
• GPRS/EDGE data;

FCC has unveiled a new Pantech device with a model number C820.

Could it be the Pantech Duo 2? Most probably. Details are scarce, but from the FCC filling we found out that the handset supports 3G frequencies, namely AT&T's WCDMA 850/1900, runs on Windows Mobile OS and comes with a QWERTY keyboard + numeric keypad combo.
