Some supposed Windows Mobile 7 screenshots have surfaced today. We can't judge whether they're real or not, as there won't be any official confirmation, plus we haven't seen the system yet. But we can't ignore such news.
The OS should be available to OEM’s by the end of the year, and the first WM7-powered devices should hit the market by spring of 2010.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has officially confirmed that the upcoming Windows Mobile 7 won't hit the market until next year. The system will be sent to manufacturers this November, and will become available to end users in April 2010 earliest.
Hopefully they'll release a Beta in a few months, like they did with the Windows 7 for PC.

If these screens are real, then someone has actually managed to install Windows 3.1 onto a Symbian-powered Nokia N95. The hacker used DOSBox to emulate the x86-class CPU on the handset in order to install Microsoft's 17 year old system. Um, cool?

Here's a nice alternative for the usual Internet Explorer, Mozilla Fennec and Opera Mobile - the WebKit-based Iris Browser 1.1.0. It runs on Windows Mobile 5 and 6, and renders websites the same as if viewed on the PC.

Common features:

- Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.

PocketPC.ch users have posted some screenshots of a leaked ROM of the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS installed, as they said, on an HTC Touch HD handset. New screens show off the new start menu, the on-screen QWERTY and some other screens from the operating system, including messaging.
