Motorola has announced 2 new rugged Windows Mobile smartphones for the Asian market, called FR68 and FR6000. Both look pretty bulky, especially the second one with its unusual form-factor, and offer the following features:

It looks like the Mozilla Fennec browser has been ported to the Windows Mobile platform. Gnubeashie, the open source whiz, has managed to build the browser using its early source code, and has published a video of it running in the Windows Mobile 6.1 emulator. And running pretty fast, I must say. The UI is very nice and looks to be more functional than that in the official Alpha.

The Compulab exeda is one of the new Android devices that were present at the CES show. Designed for the enterprise market, this squared-off handheld features:
- 3.5" VGA touchscreen;
- QWERTY keyboard;
- Touchpad;
- Android OS / Windows Mobile 6.1;
- 520MHz Marvell CPU;
- 128MB of RAM;
- Quadband GSM / GPRS / CDMA / 3G UMTS;
- 10/100Base-T Ethernet port;
- Wi-Fi
It should be released in March for a yet unknown price.

Microsoft has updated its Windows Live Messenger mobile client to be compatible with Symbian S60 devices. As you can see on the picture above, the new version perfectly fits the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic’s screen, and will also be compatible with other Nokia handsets, including the upcoming N97 model.
Just to remind you, Windows Live Messenger allows you to chat with your MSN/Windows Live buddies, as well as access your Hotmail account while on-the-go.

Samsung has lowered the price for its entry-level WM6.1-based handset, makin it £190 (about $295) for customers in the UK. The phone comes with Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard OS, and features HSDPA (2100 MHz) connectivity, a 2.3" QVGA screen, and 2Mpix camera.

Google has released a new version of its Maps for Mobile for the Windows Mobile and S60 platforms. The latest Maps for Mobile 2.3 app now supports the Street Views feature, previously available only for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android platforms.
The feature provides street-level images of streets that users search for.
