The FCC has revealed a new Windows Mobile device from Samsung on its website, called the i770. According to FCC documents it runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and features the following:

• Full QWERTY keyboard;
• CDMA-EVDO and quad-band GSM radios;
• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR;
• microSD storage cards;
• Headset jack;
• Camera (unknown res)

This one probably goes to Verizon Wireless, but this info is not confirmed yet.

Two new Dell Pharaos phones have showed up for a short while at the company's website yesterday. Quick thinkers had enough time copy the photos before they were removed from the site. The phones that were on display were the Traveller 127 with a QWERTY keyboard and the 117 model with a touchscreen display. Other features include:

Following HTC, Palm has announced that starting November 1 it will no longer provide the upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 for one of its handsets, namely the Treo 750. If you own a Treo 750 running Windows Mobile 5, upgrade your phone to a newer system while you still can.

HTC announced today that on October 31 the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade software for WM5 devices will be removed from the company's website. Those handsets include HTC S621, S620, P4350, P3300 and Advantage models. If you own one of them, you have till the end of month to download the upgrate for your phone.

O2 has unveiled today the new XDA Mantle, a handset for those who hate the HTC Touch Diamond or Touch Pro. The phone is a successor to the HTC P6500, and will run on Windows Mobile 6.0. Other features include:

• Wi-Fi;

Samsung-made Sprint ACE smartphone has received a Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade.

Sprint claims that it's bringing an "Enhanced Time-Saving Mobile Experience" to the phone, as well as the ability to install unsigned apps, and support for turn-by-turn navigation.

The current global financial crysis leaves no one aside, so it's not surprising that RIM’s shares have dropped from $148 to around $60. Rumor has it that Microsoft is waiting for RIM’s shares to drop to $40 before it starts buying them out. And you know what that means: if Microsoft takes over RIM, we'll be having Windows Mobile powered BlackBerry’s in the near future.

Good news for the AT&T's Pantech C810 Duo owners: you can now update your phone's system to Windows Mobile 6.1. The firmware upgrade is available at the official website, and besides Windows Mobile 6.1, appparently includes some "other enhancements", which the company didn't specify.

The Samsung SGH-i616 from Rogers has received today a Windows Mobile 6.1 update. Key features of Windows Mobile 6.1 include:

• Instant messaging-like texting;
• Improved Internet browsing;
• Simpler e-mail and Bluetooth setup;
• New Home screen interface;
• New Getting Started Center;
• Security enhancements;
• Easier Wi-Fi connection;
• More personal choice
