We have some good news and some bad news regarding the Windows Mobile OS. First the bad news: according to multiple sources, we can forget about Windows Mobile 7 until atleast 2010. The good news is that Microsoft is working on their new Windows Mobile 6.2 update, which will add full HTML support, as well as support for flash Flash and JavaScript.

Engadget has leaked some more information regarding the upcoming Motorola Q11. The phone's specifications seem to be pretty decent, including quad-band GSM/EDGE, stereo Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, miniSD, 2.5mm headphone jack, and a 3Mpix camera with flash, but apparently the device has no 3G support.
How could they forget to include such a critical function? Hopefully, it will appear by the time the Q11 launches.

According to some sources, the release of the future Windows Mobile 7 OS has been delayed by Microsoft from early 2009 to the second half of the year.
Actually, we believe it's just a rumor, as the system's official release date hasn't been announced yet.

Velocity 83 is a new WM smartphone that was revealed today at CTIA in San Francisco. It's features include:
- Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS;
- Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz);
- Built-in GPS receiver;
- GPS navigation software;
- 2.8" touchscreen;
- Velocity’s Odyssey UI;
- 2Mpix camera;
- Wi-Fi;
- Two microSD card slots (one for GPS)
The phone will be available in November for approximately $500.

ASUS has released a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional update for its P750 smartphone for users in Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark and Italy. The new firmware also includes improved call audio and connection stability, as well as the previously released patch that improves overall stability of the device.

Just to let you know, Telus and HTC have released a Windows Mobile 6.1 update for the Telus' S720, the CDMA variant of the Vox.
The update adds support for EV-DO Rev. A and improves "overall device functionality and stability".
That's all we know, unfortunately, but we insist that you update your device nevertheless.

Check this out: according to Magnus Andersson, product manager of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, the device isn't actually tied to any specific technical platform, such as Windows Mobile, which means in the future we could see it run Symbian or even Android.
