There is no doubt that the lack of multi-touch pinch zoom capability in Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is quite annoying. But since new software update is available the things have radically changed.

All X10 users now are able to update their handsets and enjoy pinch-to-zoom gestures in the web browser and Google Maps app.

Unfortunately, this update won't be available for users with AT&T version of this device.

The Sony Ericsson's X10 mini is now available on sale in the UK. Carphone Warehouse is retailing the phone for free on plans as low as £15 ($21.55) a month -- and it's available on T-Mobile, 3, Orange, and Vodafone -- or £249.95 ($359) if you just want to buy the phone without commitments.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is now available from the T-Mobile UK's website for free on a £35 per month two-year contract.

According to BGR refering to their trusted AT&T insider, the carrier will definitely release the Sony Ericsson X10, and pretty soon - around April-May to be more specific - at a price of $199 or lower with a two year agreement.

NTT DoCoMo is the first carrier to officially announce a branded deal on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. The Japanese variant of the said handset will be called simply the "Smartphone Xperia", and will be available in April in a choice of "Sensuous Black" and "Luster White" flavours. At about the same time it should also be launching somewhere else. Highlights:

• HSDPA 7.

Introducing the Hero C7000, a new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 knock-off. It's not a clone however as it comes with a 3" touchscreen (4" on original) and an UI very similar to what BlackBerry Storm series handsets offer. Ain't it cool? And the best thing about this handset is the price, of cource, which is just a small fraction of the X10's price tag.

Canadian carrier Rogers has recently signed an exclusive deal with Sony Ericsson to be the only carrier to offer their new Xperia X10 until the Q2 2010.
